Owl Pellets

We have been learning about owls in class and on Friday we dissected some owl pellets! Owl pellets are the parts of the animals that the owls eat but cannot digest.  They get regurgitated by the owl and are little oval shaped pellets that often contain bones of the owl's prey and are held together by the fur.  The kiddos were a little skeptical at first but once we got started and they began discovering bones and identifying them they were pretty excited.  Here are some pictures of our fun afternoon.
